Aware of the hotel’s vast potential, Mr. Charles Mallory and other limited partners in 1997 formed Clearview Investment Management, which then purchased the property from Lexington Hotel Corporation. Mr. Mallory was convinced that the site of The Greenwich Harbor Inn could be redeveloped with a luxury property befitting its location as the very best waterfront hotel site in all of New England.
In 1999, construction began on the new property, keeping only some structural walls from the previous building. In October of 2002, DELAMAR Greenwich Harbor opened as a privately owned 83-room luxury hotel, with a 600-foot private dock, becoming the first and only property in Connecticut invited to join the distinguished Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
